Re: 26yo with lifelong HH
Be confident that there is, one way or another, something that will help you. Below are my experiences with various remedies. I suffered with hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet. I first was prescribed some kind of antiperspirant. Probably something like Drysol though I don't remember as it was 20 y...

Re: 18 and dealing with HH confidently?
Avantika, I used Robinul Forte starting when I was 21, after trying prescription anti-perspirants which didn't work. The Robinul did work for me however, though it tends to make you dry elsewhere, particularly a dry mouth. I subsequently had the ETS surgery which cured my hands. Despite some compens...

Re: ~12 trials in and still no success
Ten treatments was the point where my sweating stopped (after doing it every other day). Be patient and do follow the instructions. Stick with it until, say, 20 treatments. Then, if it's not working, try again doing the treatments daily, or every third day. Or, try just doing your feet. Or try addin...

Re: it's all I can think about
You say you've seen some improvement so stick with it! Having to do both hands and feet means you have to spend a little longer with the treatments than I do. I know it's a pain but it's worth it when it works. Follow the instructions and be patient (forgive me for saying this but people who complai...

Which iontophoresis machine are you using?
I personally have had complete success using the Fischer machine. Search my posts for my complete report on this. I don't consider it expensive for the quality-of-life change it has given me.

Re: no success with Fisher after 1 month
Hello, Below are some comments on the list of information you've given. Firstly though, I've written about my own experience with the Fischer here -- search my posts for the "Using Fischer iontophoresis device for feet" thread. Addressing your points: 1) The instructions for the device recommend vol...

Re: Using Fischer iontophoresis device for feet
So I revised the instruction for the device: If the mineral content of the tap water is low current flow is reduced and the desired amperage (15 to 18 milliamps) may not be achieved. A teaspoonful of baking soda added and dissolved in each tray should solve the problem. This seems to describes my pr...

Re: Cured at last!
I'd imagine it a little annoying and anxiety-inducing knowing that if you miss your pill you'll start sweating. But I'm sure it's a regular habit for you by now. With iontophoresis I have to do it regularly (2-3 times a week) but I can go on vacation for a couple of weeks and as long as I get back o...

Re: Cured at last!
Thanks for your answer. I was curious as to how the medication works and your explanations are very clear. I wonder if a higher dose would last longer?
I'm very happy that you found a solution. HH is no fun and people don't always understand this.
