Re: Please help my son

Hi, you've done the right thing posting on these boards. I searched and found this information regarding Blue Cross Anthem (which I believe is Blue Cross for California), and hyperhidrosis. Here: http://www.anthem.com/medicalpolicies/policies/mp_pw_a050005.htm Now in this they say you must adequatel...

Re: iontophoresis for compensatory sweat??

Hi, I'm pretty sure the Hidrex machine allows you to do this. You should check out the forums at iontophoresis-device.com.

Sweating has returned to my right hand

Hi all, I just want to say that some sweating has returned to my right hand. It started about 6 months ago, but I've just been noticing it more recently. My right hand can get really clammy and cold in nervous situations. This kind of makes me feel insecure just like before ETS. I really thought thi...

Re: I'd do anything to enjoy the sunshine

For clothing, the product from sweatshieldundershirt.com seems to look good but I haven't tried it yet. You can take a look at here too: kleinerts.com/body-guard-absorbent-shields-with-double-sided-tape.html I'm stuck in black color and still look for a solution. I don't recommend buying the Kleine...

Re: Several years after ETS

Hi Raj, Being more calm since the surgery does have a positive impact on social situations and work. My sweaty hands don't dictate my every move anymore. As cliché as it sounds, it feels like a heavy boulder has been lifted off my shoulders. About the painful sensation from the clamps - Yes, I have ...

Re: Recieved botox injections

Hi there, I'm sorry the botox didn't work for you. But don't feel like you're the only one, because there's a lot of posters that report the botox not working well for their palmar hh either. It looks like you haven't tried iontophoresis yet. I strongly recommend trying it before opting for surgery....

Re: Several years after ETS

Hi Steve, Thanks a lot for the reply. I am told that by getting a T4-only, chances of CS and upper body becoming dry are remote, if not impossible. T2 and T3 seem to have a stronger link with Endocrine and Cardiovascular systems than T4. Some surgeons claim that clamping has a higher rate of recurr...

Re: Several years after ETS

Hi Admin, I am planning to undergo a staged T4 ETS for palm hyperhidrosis. The surgery is done first on the right side (my dominant side) and then on the left side. I'd be considering the second half of the surgery only if I'm satisfied with the first half of it. I may even forego the second half i...

Re: Update on my battle with palmar hyperhidrosis

Hi all, just thought I should give an update on things. Side effects: Dryness above the nipple line. This side effect includes dry hair, dry face, dry scalp, dry skin on arms, basically everything above the nipple line is drier. Compensatory sweating. I primarily wear black and other dark clothes no...

Re: My story

I'd probably try oral glycopyrrolate (Robinul/Avert) or topical glycopyrrolate (Secure Wipes) if I were you. You can buy these without a prescription at pharmacy.ca (prescription makes it significantly cheaper though).

Re: My ETS and Lumbar Sympathectomy - Pro's and Con's

Very interesting story. Did you go to experienced surgeons, or did you go to local ones in which you were their first patient? Sounds kind of weird how your ETS only cured "60%" of your hyperhidrosis, and how the lumbar sympatectomy only cured "60%" for the feet. If you didn't already know, there's ...

It's generally accepted that iontophoresis works on people of any age. However, I would definitely do more googling/researching before letting your kids do iontophoresis. It will always work, the amount of time using the machine doesn't matter. Definitely have them use the pulsed current machines, s...

Holy crap that's insane. It shows how the clamps aren't really reversible. In five days post-op I would think that side-effects would be completely reversed. Thanks for making this post! It really emphasizes how much thought people need to put in before getting this surgery. My compensatory sweating...
