Re: Any news on Austrian, German and Brazilian teams?

I only know about the Austrian surgeon dr. Roman Rieger from Gmunden. He is probably one of the best choices - he's been doing the ELS for years and even dr. Tarfusser (who is one of the best if not the best ELS surgeon) admits that he received some initial training from him. There are also some Ind...

Re: My HH story

I am happy to report that the ELS seems to be a complete success. The feet are still completely dry 2 years after the ELS and the CS remains the same.

Re: Percutaneous radiofrequency for HH

I am lucky to have a free access to most articles listed in PubMed. I am sorry that I cannot remember the titles of those about perc. rad. In most cases the articles which study perc. rad. are rather useless because they favour this procedure. I remember the notions of negative side effects from oth...

Re: Percutaneous radiofrequency for HH

1. I had a classical (surgical) ETS, so I cannot give you a good answer. However, from what I read, this method does not seem to be as accurate and as precise as the endoscopic method. This may cause many troubles similar to the side effects of chemical sympathectomy which causes random damage to th...

13 months post ELS update

I am happy to inform all forum members that 13 months after ELS the situation is exactly the same as the day after the surgery: the feet are still dry, the CS is the same as before ELS and there are no other side-effects. Chris had a relapse about a year and a half after ELS, so keep your fingers cr...

Icariin helps a lot with cold hands

I was pleasantly surprised when a reasonable dose of icariin (3 times a day 60 mg icariin) unexpectedly cured my usually cold hands (which are probably one of the side effects of ETS from 17 years ago). It took about 14 days to start working. After some googling I found that the result is not very s...

Re: Cold or warm feet after lumbar sympathectomy

There was no change after the ELS. The feet are very warm and my hands remain mostly cold.

Re: Iontophoresis for plantar HH?

Iontopheresis can make miracles, but it is a very tedious and unpleasant chore. I used to achieve some great results with a combination of two treatments. Each other night I also used a very strong antiperspirant http://ahc30-forte.com/ The other antiperspirant which was also very effective was http...

Re: Important Advice About ETS

Removing more than one ganglion per side will very likely cause horrible compensatory sweating. Specifically, removing both T2 and T3 will almost certainly cause major disturbances to the innervation of the heart (much lower pulse, probably some major changes to the ECG). Removing both T1 will defin...

Re: ETS Solution to Raynauds

I do hope that your surgeons made the right choice. A simpathectomy definitely increases the inflow of blood into extremities. I had ELS this April and my feet were very hot for about 3 weeks and they are still unusually warm 7 months after the surgery. Before the onset of vein surgeries a simpathec...

Re: My last hope....ETS...help.....help....help....

I am very sorry to hear about your problems and I totally understand your suffering and the willingness to try just anything. But, be very careful. Unfortunately it is very likely that the sympathectomy will make your problems even worse. It will stop the sweating in certain limited areas and it wil...

A questionnaire for all who had lumbar sympathectomy

It seems that the number of people who had lumbar sympathectomy is still very low. The latest articles from the surgeons who perform ELS analyze the results from 10-100 sympathectomies. It may be a good idea to collect some objective info about the experience before and after the surgery from "real"...

Re: Inquiries on ETS Procedure

You should talk to some of the best surgeons and tell them about your condition. I am not an expert but unfortunately I have a feeling that your problems with generalized sweating (all over your body+gustatory sweating) may be an indication for a possible very bad CS after ETS regardless of the leve...

Re: Considering ETS

My only side effects from the ETS were CS and a slightly lower heart rate while resting. The CS appeared about a year after the surgery and was quite unpleasant for about 5 or 6 years. Now, 16 years after ETS it is almost gone and present only in extreme conditions. The lower heart rate was never pr...

Re: Considering ETS

I completely understand your troubles and your motives. I suffered from very bad palmar HH for the first 25 years of my life and from plantar HH for the first 41 years. Unfortunately you must know that the ETS is a bit of a gamble. Almost all who had ETS suffer from CS which can be anything from unp...
