I followed the video above and built my own iontophoresis machine. I use the machine do iontophoresis about 5 times. Then I found that the stainless pans are oxidized, on which there are some spots. So my concern is that whether there is side effect when the pan is oxidizing during iontophoresis.

The fact that this is a homemade setup makes no difference. As far as I know most of the commercial iontophoresis machines work the same way with a stainless steel connection.

I personally use a Fischer device but with homemade water trays. My trays are plastic and the electricity is conducted into the water using stainless steel connectors. These darken and corrode over time and I replace them periodically.

Does that oxidizing/corroding stainless steel cause any side effects? None that I know of and I've been using this since 2006. Could it be affecting my longterm health? I don't know.

This is a thread here that touches upon this subject: Worried about toxicity of metal electrodes
