Kuntz Nerves

Anyone know why Kuntz nerves need to be cut during the surgery and whether all doctors do it? I don't want more nerves cut than necessary!

there were too many recurrences after standard ETS surgery, so surgeons started to look for a scapegoat for this. They came up with the nerve of Kuntz....previously observed in cats.... I can be found in 60% of people, but it's role/function has never been established. It is a myth, perpetuated by the ETS industry.
Proof? Well, the literature. And then I had the nerve of Kuntz cut on one side, yet palmar HH came back on both hands....
Recurrence of palmar HH did not change he pattern or severity of the severe compensatory sweating...
