Icariin helps a lot with cold hands

Post by slovenec »

I was pleasantly surprised when a reasonable dose of icariin (3 times a day 60 mg icariin) unexpectedly cured my usually cold hands (which are probably one of the side effects of ETS from 17 years ago). It took about 14 days to start working.

After some googling I found that the result is not very surprising. Some very bad cases of Raynaud's disease were successfully improved by using PDE5 inhibitors (ie. mostly erectile dysfunction drugs such as sildenafil, tadalafil, ...)

Unfortunately icariin is considered a food supplement and it is difficult to find a reliable source. It is one of the chemicals which are present in large quantities in a plant with a funny name horny goat weed. Different suppliers state different amounts of icariin in their products and almost all are heavily exaggerated.
