Miradry for the hands and feet? Clinical trial in California

I got an email from the international hyperhidrosis society about clinical trials for miramar labs. It's a similar technology to miradry which works on the underarms, but this is for the hands and feet.

I would love to try this but the trials are in California (I'm in England). Would anyone here want to give it a go?

If you are at least 18 years of age, you may qualify for a research study in your area using an investigational medical device. The device will be treating small areas of your hands and feet, to see if it will reduce the amount of sweat.

If you qualify, there is no cost for treatment, you will be compensated for your time, and parking is free.

Interested to see if you qualify? Email today clinicalstudy@miramarlabs.com or call between 8am and 5pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) 408-981-8754.

Wow thanks for this information Pinker!

Just called them and they will have a specialist call me soon hopefully so that I can add this info on my homepage.

Do you think you will attend the clinical trial if you can? It would be great to hear more about the treatment, I wish I were able to go myself.

Well they never called back. They asked me for my website address and maybe got a bit wary after seeing the homepage and other content on it.

I will probably not participate in the trials as I do not wish to risk any damage on my feet where the sweat is not as bothersome as on my hands (where the sweat went away after my ETS surgery in 1998).

Ultherapy has all appearances of being just as effective as MiraDry but with significantly less side effects. Both approaches kill off sweat glands permanently as far as either side can tell. Both have similar risks and success stories. I'm damn near giddy about this terrible condition being potentially curable. All my searches and online reading suggest Ultherapy is the better choice. The nay-sayers on the few comparison sites I found sound a lot like personal investors given all their "FDA approval" comments. From what I can tell, it's clearly a losing battle that puts MiraDry in a mid-evil like position when compared to Ultherapy. Perhaps my current opinion is too harsh but I'll know more soon enough. I'm going to do the Ultherapy. As always, appreciate this site, the people, the effort, and your ongoing persistence in our war on sweat.
