What is Certain Dri?

Certain Dri is one of the most renowned clinical strength antiperspirant brands in the world. It is primarily used to treat armpit sweating, although some people do try applying it to their hands or face. The company that makes (Clarion Brands) Certain Dri states that the product comes in three different varieties. It provides all-day wetness protection when effective.

You can purchase Certain Dri from pharmacies such as Walmart, CVS and Walgreens. Make sure to check the company's Instagram and Facebook pages for testimonials. You can also buy it online via Amazon after reading through the reviews and checking out the ratings:

My Experience Using Certain Dri for Armpit Sweating

I often use the doctor recommended Certain Dri roll-on antiperspirant (image below) for my excessive underarm sweating. After showering in the morning and drying off with a towel, I apply Certain Dri to my armpits. To date, I have been very pleased with the results. My armpits remain bone dry throughout the day. Moreover, I never get any major underarm stains, residue or wetness when I use this product.

However, I try not to apply Certain Dri every day so as to prevent any potential side effects from daily application of aluminum to my armpits. The evidence that high strength aluminium based antiperspirants can cause cancer or other issues in the long run is not very strong. However, I prefer to err on the side of caution. I also do not want my body to develop resistance to the active ingredients in any of these anti-sweat products.

To date, I have never experienced any adverse side effects from using Certain-Dri.

Ingredients

The ingredients in Certain Dri vary depending on the specific product being used.

For the most popular roll-on bottle that I used (image further below), it states that Aluminium Chloride 12% is the main active active ingredient. Aluminium Chloride is the most common ingredient in most over-the-counter antiperspirant and deodorant products.

Certain Dri's extra strength solid antiperspirant product contains 25% Aluminium Sesquichlorohydrate. You can read more about this ingredient here. Aluminium Sesquichlorohydrate is gentler on sensitive skin in comparison to many other active ingredients commonly used in prescription antiperspirants.

Finally, Certain Dri's everyday strength antiperspirant product (comes in both solid and roll-on forms) contains 20% Aluminium Zirconium Complex. Aluminum zirconium pentachlorohydrex Gly is very common nowadays in a host of antiperspirant products. Note that this product is an antiperspirant and deodorant all-in-one combination.
