Re: Sweaty palms during a job interview
I'd try cold shower in the morning and don't drink any coffee before. sometimes the cold shower can help keep my hands dry for a few hours in the morning.

Just sort of bumping this thread because this therapy is legit in my opinion. Just as a disclaimer, I am in no way trying to profit or benefit from you all trying this therapy. It has been working great for me and I want the word to get out purely to help you all. The only drawback to this technique...

Re: Driving with hyperhidrosis?
yeah I almost always just use windows down rather than AC when it's hot outside. I noticed that if I do use AC, as soon as I get outside in the hot it's a huge change in temperature and i begin sweating a lot more as opposed to having the windows down and getting acclimated to the hot weather. I als...

Re: Fasting and reduced sweating?
I assume this is a caloric fast and not a fluid fast, and maybe this caloric fast would decrease the body's metabolism and possibly lead to decreased sweating. I often wake up in the morning with dry hands/feet and that's usually right after a fast so maybe there is something here. Obviously fasting...

Not sure why iontophoresis wasn't working. I followed the instructions as they were written (I got one of the legitimate ones that were about 1000$. luckily got a refund though :) ). I really just didn't see any sort of improvement at all. My hands were sweating like they always would. I added salt ...

Checking in again. Laid off the exfoliation for a while for no other reason than that I was forgetting to do it. My hand sweating was getting much better so I suppose that's why I was forgetting to do it. My sweating returned and it became a big problem for me again. I didn't realize the increase in...

Huge improvement. A must read
I've tried various drugs to reduce sweating along with electrophoresis and nothing has worked. I'm sure this is the case for most of you here. This condition can be relentless but there are ways to actively combat the sweating and I hope you all give them a try because these methods have worked extr...

Re: Abolished InsP3R2 function inhibits sweat secretion
It would be nice if you could post a small summary of the literature rather than just the link. Because all i got out of it was that a gene was mutated in this Pakistani family that resulted in anhidrosis. Unfortunately I don't see how this can help any one of us since none of us here are affected b...

Re: This read will change your life forever
I sweat a lot on my hands and feet. To the point where it can literally be dripping off of my hands. It started as early as I can remember but for most of us, I only realized how big of a problem it was when I started talking to girls. Drinking a lot of water is not a "cure". More so an improvement....

Re: This read will change your life forever
To my knowledge (which may be minimal), the reason alcohol works so effectively to stop sweating is that it is a strong depressant. It decreases activity of the nervous system which is why drinking too much can actually cause your heart rate to come to a complete halt. I honestly don't know any safe...

Good read, congrats on finding success with iontophoresis, and hell of a job becoming an engineer. Take a look at my thread at the top though, I did some research and believe it to be sound. It deals with solving the problem internally, by lowering the activity of the sympathetic nervous system.

This read will change your life forever
Hyperhidrosis does not receive much interest in the medical field. We've all been to doctors hoping they have some cure for us or could tell us what is wrong with us, but to no avail. It may be because very few people suffer from it, or to others, they don't see it as much of a concern/problem. If o...

i've read a lot that the magic number is 10 trials for it to work so i'm getting anxious that it might have no effect on me.

~12 trials in and still no success
Hi all, I have really bad palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis and i managed to convince my parents to get me an iontophoresis machine (RA fischer). I put some baking soda in it to help with the current but i still need to go to like 7/10 on the dial to get to 15 mA. I guess i'll start putting more, and...

Re: Anxiety induced palmar sweating
I recommend using some anti perspirant deodorant. I use old spice sweat defense because it's pretty strong. Just make sure you only apply it when your hands are completely dry (as in, not sweating at all). Try taking a cold shower (real cold, so you're shivering) and your hands will stop sweating en...
