Re: we need your HELP!!!
I did recently contact them saying this:
Hello!
I have contacted Miramar labs in the past inquiring about the clinical trials for MiraDry to be used for palmar hyperhidrosis. I was told that a special applicated had been tested and commercialization could be expected sometime in 2018. I was hoping to see if there were any updates such as a more specific launch date for this new applicator in the US? Will the Sientra acquistion affect this launch at all? And lastly, is there the potential for this new applicator to be used on the feet as well? Any information would be great appreciated! Thank you so much.
And received two separate responses:
Thank you for your interest in miraDry.
miraDry is approved for the treatment of primary axillary [underarm] hyperhidrosis, and may not be used on other parts of the body.
With the acquisition of Miramar Labs by Sientra, technology focus is under evaluation, and are not able to provide further guidance at this time.

While we continue to evaluate other treatment indications for the miraDry technology, we are unable to provide more information at this time.

Re: we need your HELP!!!
Hi All- just wanted to say that I contacted Miramar labs again this week to see if there were updates as we get closer to 2018. Unfortunately I received the same generic response as anvailas did. I think it’s really important that we keep pushing for miradry for use on the hands and not let it be delayed due to the Sientra acquisition. I hope that if the company continues to receive inquiries they will see how much of a demand there is for this treatment. Has anyone else been able to uncover any more information? Thanks!!!
Re: we need your HELP!!!
Hi All..Here is the latest response I received from MiraDry - this does not seem like good news but maybe if people continue to contact them they will realize there is a demand.
Thank you for your interest in miraDry.
Miramar Labs was acquired by Sientra Inc. As a result, product focus is being reviewed, and we are not able to provide a release estimate at this time.
